Jiande-Jinhua Expressway, a Three-Year Masterpiece, Has Successfully Been Accepted and Open to Traffic

On 18th Nov. 2020, Jiande-Jinhua Expressway was successfully accepted, and on 22nd Dec. the same year officially open to traffic.
In accordance with the procedures of acceptance, the review group comprising officials and functionaries of Bureau of Communications of Zhejiang Province, Department of Communications, Department of Contingency, Traffic Police and Road Administration of both Hangzhou and Jinhua, on 17th Nov. 2020, conducted site inspection and acceptance on project works, including bridges, tunnels, road base and auxiliary works, and reviewed carefully documentation and materials concerning engineering construction. After a site inspection and group discussions, and hearing the work reports of the construction unit, the design unit and the construction supervisor, the review group reached a unanimous agreement that the construction of the project was completed in conformity with the requirements of design and technical specifications and of good quality, and thus accepted.
Listed as a key construction project in The Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, Jiande-Jinhua Expressway will connect to three main provincial expressways, viz., Hangzhou-Xin'anjiang-Jingde Expressway, Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway and Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Expressway upon its completion, complementing Changsha-Shenzhen Expressway, providing the mid-western region of the province with quick access to the south and the north, and playing a vital role in propelling Hangzhou-Jinhua conurbations, optimizing national and regional expressway networks and promoting the construction of the Comprehensive Three Dimensional Communication Corridor of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. That Jiande-Jinhua Expressway being open to traffic will form a golden tourist route, i.e., “Jinhua Mountain-Qiandao Lake-Xin’an River”, in southwestern Zhejiang, promoting upgrade of the tourism throughout the route across the board, expediting Jinyi New Area in its integration into the Yangtze River Delta Region.
Our firm was responsible for the fifth section of the expressway travelling through Chisong. Since October 2017, our firm has completing 350,000m3 of excavation and 610,000m3of rock filling, with 2 grand bridges of 2,242.8m, 3 large bridges of 1,796.7m and being constructed, delivering a satisfactory answer sheet. At the beginning of the project, in consideration of the characteristics and difficulties in the construction of the project, such as the widening of Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway and Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Expressway and the construction of the overpass of Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Expressway, the company offered its huge support to the project in terms of manpower and material resources. During the implementation of the project, due to the long span of the route and many existing problems, the project department encountered many difficulties regarding policies, which caused serious interference to the progress of the project, but the department utilized the advantages of local enterprises to overcome each difficulty, orderly promoting the construction progress of each node. In the construction of the overpasses of RZ and RY grand bridges of Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou expressway, the inexperienced project team accumulated valuable construction experience from scratch. Although the team experienced twists and turns, they somehow managed it. After working sunup and sundown, the team successfully completed the crossline construction of this section.
In the last stage of construction, the project department will carefully summarize construction management experience, constantly increasing management patterns, providing reference for similar follow-up construction, and conscientiously perform subsequent concluding work and the management of all sorts during the defect liability period pertaining to the suggestions put forward by the review group.
